HAPPY 14th Austin

We had Austin's birthday party yesterday. Dad had to help Hampton light the candles because there were sooooo many to light.
After Hampton smashed the cake in Austin's face.

Austin's Night Out

Austin started the night out with Paul at Hooters. He said he was "going for the wings and that's my story."

Then it was off to the Coldplay concert.

Riding Horses

We drove out to Cedars of Lebanon State Park to try riding horses. We have never done this before. It was a 45 minute ride through the park on the trails. The horses fit our personalities perfectly:

Hampton - sweet and did as told most of the time
Austin - stopped to eat as much as possible
Paul - had a coughing fit - like he gets colds alot
Deborah - SLOW - nicknamed Eeyore - wanted to take the ride nice and slow without too much excitement

After we had been on the horses about 10 minutes Hampton asked when can we do this again. He loves animals.

Hampton looks so old in this picture. I can't stand it.
I took him to a professional soccer game in Nashville.

MOMMY POEM

Every year at preschool for Mother's Day, I ask the kids questions about their mom and write down what they say. We give each mom their poem for a gift and they all laugh at the answers. We get some crazy, some true, some very adorable answers. Austin was reading them tonight and found a blank one and decided to fill it out. Here is his poem. The italicized words are the answers:

My mother's name is Deborah. She is 20 feet tall and weighs 150 pounds. She likes to cook bacon for me. Her favorite restaurant is PF Changs and her favorite food is french fries with extra salt. Her favorite color is blue. She likes to play when I ask random questions with me. Her favorite thing to do is watch HGTV. She does not like to have a birthday (her days are numbered). She likes when I leave her alone (that's not possible), but she does not like it when I call her Debby. I love my mommy because she lets me see PG13 movies.
Love, Austin

Here is Hampton's poem:

My mother's name is Deborah. She is 5 feet tall and weighs 1,000,000 pounds. She likes to cook sloppy joes for me. Her favorite restaurant is Demo's and her favorite food is chicken. Her favorite color is blue. She likes to play games with me. Her favorite thing to do is love your child. She does not like to mow. She likes it when I say I love you, but she does not like it when I talk about farting. I love my mommy because she is the best you could ever have in 1,000,000,000,000,000 years!!!!!
Love, Hampton

Like I said some crazy, some true and some very adorable answers.

THEME SONG FOR MY BOYS

If I had to pick one song to sum up everything my boys mean to me, this is would be it. The song that says what I want to say to them in their life and always want them to remember. What I want them to know when they are grown up. They will always be forever young to me. This is "Forever Young" by Rod Stewart.

May the good Lord be with you down every road you roam
And may sunshine and happiness surround you when you're far from home
And may you grow to be proud, dignified and true
And do unto others as you'd have done to you
Be courageous and be brave
And in my heart you'll always stay forever young

May good fortune be with you
May your guiding light be strong
Build a stairway to heaven whether a prince or a vagabond
And may you never love in vain
And in my heart you will remain Forever young

And when you finally fly away I'll be hoping that I served you well
For all the wisdom of a lifetime no one can ever tell
But whatever road you choose I'm right behind you, win or lose
Forever young

I LOVE YOU BOYS
